Exploring the Jungle

1

I guess many of you have at least seen a jungle and maybe even followed a narrow path under a canopy that gets darker as you progress until you are lost in a claustrophobic world. Scary, also because you know that danger looms!

This was the beginning of a horror story that takes you to an insurance company or any kind of business with thousands of documents, a jungle with many kinds of dangerous clauses and lawyers who hunt for the hidden mavericks.

A few days ago, at the RiskIn2025, I listened to a shaman who through incantations to the gods of mathematics, offerings to the goddess of the lakes and a pilgrimage to the sanctuary of artificial intelligence called to life a magician that transformed the jungle into a eucalyptus plantation that you can walk through without obstacles.

I am already hearing the ecologists complain about the destruction of nature and they are right: my analogy is not green! But I wanted it to be provocative and attract your attention. I guess I succeeded if you are still reading my story!

Now, to the facts! The tech wizard who presented the eucalyptus plantation developed a solution to read and translate thousands of legal documents from many languages and legal backgrounds, and to immerse them in a data lake. And another solution to fish out of the dark waters contracts and insurance policies, and analyze their structure, clauses, and discover errors or missing points.

I talked to a client of the shaman. He was very happy to have solved a problem, and unhappy to have created another one, a revolution amongst corporate lawyers who had lost their jobs.

However, as we all know, any problem is a source of opportunities. The lawyers are now busy studying artificial intelligence solutions to make their work more meaningful.

Paul.

P.S. Don´t forget to ask PAVEL anything about insurance.
